The Humanity Project

To create and implement innovative programs that teach children and adults how to use cooperation and social connection for individual development and grassroots community improvement

Happy, Happy!

The Humanity Project tackles big social issues in creative ways, whether in our acclaimed Anti-bullying Through The Arts program or our original philosophy of shared value or our bold new “I Care!” teen driver safety program. But sometimes we have to pause to recognize a special individual who has contributed to the group in one way or another.

Sondra Lucas at home

So today we wish a Very Happy Birthday to Sondra Lucas! I must be honest and explain that Sondra also is my sister and that this is a big birthday for her, one with a zero at the end. (As her loyal brother, of course, I won’t say what number comes before that zero …) So yes, in a way, this is a rare personal indulgence for me as founder of the Humanity Project, an organization that isn’t about me but rather about helping to solve community issues through cooperation and social connection. But Sondra isn’t just my sister, as it turns out. She is a consistent supporter of the Humanity Project and has been since the beginning. She believes in this group and its mission, even working toward starting a chapter where she lives in North Carolina. She also painted a beautiful artwork recently for the Humanity Project to use on thank you cards and other items. So no, I couldn’t let this important day pass without acknowledging Sondra on our blog … and without saying to her from me, “Happy Birthday, Sis!”
