Our Acclaimed Program
I’m posting this new blog just a couple of hours after our latest anti-bullying presentations for elementary schoolkids. Our Anti-bullying Through The Arts program received a very nice compliment during these presentations – and I wanted to pass it along so you could share in our pride. But first, just a little bit of background: The Humanity Project’s Anti-bullying Through The Arts program this week alone has been seen in three presentations at two South Florida schools. That means we reached nearly 1,000 students pre-K through grade 5 just since Monday, plus providing our pre/post testing and booklets for each teacher to reinforce the program’s positive message. Today we had the pleasure of meeting the kids at Broward Estates Elementary Magnet School in Lauderhill, Florida. They’re wonderful children and their guidance counselor, Sabrina Thomas, is terrific too. When introducing us, Ms. Thomas told the students and teachers, “The Humanity Project program is known among guidance counselors in our school system and is one of the most acclaimed anti-bullying programs in Broward County!” Broward County is the sixth largest school district in the United States so that’s a lovely thing to hear. Of course, we’ve long been proud of the praise that our program has received in the media as well as from schools we visit. Our Anti-bullying Through The Arts has been written up in Time Magazine for Kids, the Miami Herald, South Florida Sun Sentinel, El Sentinel and appeared on NBC Miami, among other media coverage. But it was gratifying to listen to this appreciation expressed directly to so many educators and students today. Thank you, Ms. Thomas, for sharing that with all of us. And thanks to everyone at Broward Estates. Anti-bullying Through The Arts is going strong — stronger than ever. We believe firmly that it’s making a real difference and we’re glad to know many professional guidance counselors agree with us.
