Happy Birthday, Anton!

Anton Bruckner

I can’t let this time of year pass without a personal blog about a musician who’s very special to me. Some of you may already know the work of Anton Bruckner. Many of you may not. Tomorrow, September 4, will be his birthday — uh, his 186th birthday, to be precise. Already regarded as among the greatest composers of all time, I actually believe Bruckner’s symphonies remain undervalued. (You can hear a YouTube sample of his 7th Symphony by clicking here: http://tinyurl.com/2ecvk43) Bruckner was an Austrian, born in 1824, who explored humanity’s relationship with the universe in powerful, unique ways. For me, as founder of the Humanity Project, I find him an endless source of inspiration and hope you may discover his great music too. Happy Birthday, Anton! :-)
